I hope this being avideo update instead of an image update will make up for it. I've been ratherbusy, but the semester is over and I'm off for a month.Now down to business...As always, I'm learning more and more about NMT skinning. You might have seen theother thread I made inquiring about some of the limitations I've encountered,particularly the image ones -- this troubles me as this skin is image-heavy.I figure while I'm thinking through how to make the home screen look better, I'llget the file viewer out of the way. Since it should be basically the same forPictures and Music, it'll be a huge chunk of the project.It may look rather simple, but this actually took me a long time. Part of thereason is that I'm not making a completely new skin -- I'm trying to mimic theMediaStream as close as possible. This entails a lot of trial and error. I alsocopied the simplest File List view and actually even made it simpler.I haven't incorporated any large icon views mainly because I don't know off handhow to do it. It's quite possible that what I plan to do for the home page can bemodified for the file viewer as well and will be able to show large icons or,better yet, other more attractive views.Because of limitations beyond my control, I decided to leave a few things the waythey were to make it easier to navigate.1. I left them numbered -- makes it that much easier to get to the movie since theNMT works with pages.2. I left the icons as well since there's no other way to tell what the folder is-- I could've made folder names a different color, but a single uniform colorseems more attractive. The way MediaStream does it is by showing filesizes forfiles -- I don't see how the NMT can do this.3. I left them bold. Since the highlight bar can only be a single color (as far asI know), I think bold-white is easier to see.4. I left the "# of items" on the bottom right -- gives you an idea of how manypages there are; again, makes it a bit easier to navigate.5. I also made the list width much wider. This is where it gets different fromMediaStream. MediaStream pushes the list to the right to leave room forposters/info on the left. Since I don't incorporate any of this, I figure I'll putthe majority of it to the file list.6. I still need to work on the Search bar. The Search and Shuffle both work asnormal.The one thing I did to make it harder to navigate is cut the immediate list downfrom the default 11 to 9 -- just to keep it in spirit with MediaStream. Throughthis, I actually learned that this list can actually go up to 13 or 14 and evenpossibly more -- so you get to scroll through more of the list without pagingup/down. I haven't tested this completely, but it'll crash if you go beyond theviewable page. So if you put 50 up there and it goes beyond the screen, yes, youcan scroll all the way down, but once you get to the end, it'll crash.
