October 20, 2012 Questioning My Topic

Genetic engineering makes me wonder if, as humans, we have gone too far with technology. This advancement has the ability to eliminate different diseases which would save thousands of lives. But, this would also cause a great amount of harm to the earth and population. It could possible lead to over population and extreme job loss in the medical field. With super humans walking around it would be harder for people that are average to find work and possibly even survive. Genetic engineering could create cures that we never thought possible, but is it worth it? Would it really be beneficial if it caused over population and job loss. What about robotics? What if people decided humans werent enough, what happens then? People have already lost their jobs to robotics before (vehicle production, farming, etc). What will happen when we have technology that outsmarts us and we are no longer in control?
