WTB introduction
WTB was ounded in Marin County,Caliornia in 1982, ueled by theneed to create durable and reliablemountain bike-specic equipment.Back then mountain biking wasa new and burgeoning sport, andmountain bikes weren’t much morethan cobbled-together oddities. Theoriginal WTB crew was captivated by theexperience o riding bikes on dirt trails, and they started creating more durableand unctional components or theirown bikes. Soon, local rame builderssought to outt their bikes with WTB’shigh-end components. WTB was able toturn a passion or bikes into a successulbusiness. Today WTB is a global enterprise; ourinnovative components are used ortrail riding, transportation, recreationand elite racing across the world. Ater27 years things have changed a bit hereat WTB – our little garage has morphedinto a real oce and the bikes we rideand the components we make haveevolved to meet the needs o today’sriders, racers, and commuters. Whathasn’t changed is our passion or cyclingand our commitment to providingthe cycling community with durable, reliable, high-perormance components.

TIRE TECHNOLOGY DEFINED
SUPER DUTY CASING
This thick-ply casing resists cuts rom rocks and debriswhile damping impacts. Our Inner Peace sidewallreinorcement urther protects the tire rom damage, reduces sidewall ex and dramatically reduces pinch ats.
FLAT GUARD
A puncture resistant nylon barrier that runs rom bead tobead or the ultimate protection against ats.
SPEED SHIELD
A thin densely woven nylon belt, sandwiched betweenthe tread and casing, that reduces punctures andincreases the rolling characteristics.
DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
WTB’s ast-rolling 60a durometer rubber compound isspecically ormulated or high-perormance riding in avariety o conditions.
DUAL DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
The centerline compound eatures 60a durometer rubberor ast rolling, precise steering and durability. The dense,slow-rebounding 50a durometer outer tread providesexceptional grip and shock absorbing properties.
TUBELESS
Designed to meet UST/ETRTO standards, WTB tubelesstires eature a olding UST bead and a butyl-lined casing orexceptional air retention qualities. Our tubeless tires alsoeature our high-perormance DNA rubber compound.
HIGH GRIP DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
The ultimate slow-rebound rubber compound, HighGrip DNA, conorms to trail elements or maximumgrip. This 40a durometer rubber provides unmatchedperormance in wet and technical conditions.
BEAD
Folding beads provide greater bead-seat characteristics, whileweighing in lighter than conventional steel beads . Folding beadsare also easier to install. Steel beads are more economical andstronger, making them ideal or aggressive, trail riding applications.
TPI
TPI stands or threads per inch. This number reers to the threadcount in a tire’s casing. A lower TPI indicates that thicker threadsare woven into the casing, thereore making it more durable; ahigher TPI indicates thinner threads are used, thereore makingthe casing lighter and more pliable. WTB’s 60 TPI race-level tiresofer supple, shock absorption qualities while remaining resistantto cuts and tears. The Super Duty casing ound on Team DH tires,by contrast, eature dual plies o tough 30 TPI casing.
SIPING
Sipes are small incisions on a tire’s tread. Siping a knobcreates more working edges, which boosts traction invirtually any condition. Because WTB’s high-end mountaintires eature shallow sipes, the knobs still stay rm underheavy loads and hard braking.
TIRE PRESSURE
WTB recommends that tire pressure be checked beore eachride. The acceptable pressure range or mountain bike tiresis 35- to 65-psi (2.4- to 4.5-bar). Road tires must be inated to100- to 130-psi (7- to 9-bar). City/Trekking/Hybrid tires must beinated between 50- and 80-psi (3.5- to 5.5-bar). Tire pressureoutside o these guidelines can result in a loss o control or, atthe very least, poor perormance.
SUPER TRACK DNA RUBBER COMPOUND
WTB’s special blend o high-traction 53a durometerrubber provides sticky, solid traction or improvedcontrol in steep, loose conditions.
