Introduction:
Primarily, GS focuses on EHS in all its business dealings. EHS,its beyond doubt, yields not only cost effective performance butalso, secures the lives of employee & guarantees safe returninghome. In a complicated work environment where technologicaladvancement introduces more and more equipment & resultedoriented instruments, warrants employee a challenge whendischarging basic duties. It imposes additional responsibility onthe employer to keep employee trained in work methods as andwhen an advent approach ( non-routine) is followed. Fullyrealizing the current requirements & the changes in regulationeffected by the Government / Clients such as KOC / KNPC / KPPC etc. GS, continuously, updates its technique to meet thechallenges imposed upon. Investing, not merely money butalso, the human values to prove the efficiency of the operationin all it’s endeavor. To achieves these & other objectives set,GS modules it’s training approach and accordingly allocate theresources to get optimum out-put. A commitment todemonstrate management involvement in all its EHS programplays a vital role. A commitment through programs, resources,participation & above all, involvement of employees inimplementing EHS is the spirit of success.

Hazard identification, communication & Control:
Continuous hazard identification at work-place through varioustechnique & communicating it through STARRT meeting, Labelingas required, BBS (3NB approach), MBW (Managing By Walk-around ) technique, Structured Inspection from both the Client &Company level reduces the Risk level. Where risk levels are high,a Risk Assessment is made along with a Method Statement and aRisk reduction techniques are followed as appreciated by theClients. Thus, GS tries to make available a work-environmentwhere the Risks are appreciably low / minimum. Controls,inevitably are established through either Engineering orAlternative / Substitution, and or Administrative method.
Emergency Plan & Evacuation:
Oil & Gas Industry, particularly Refinery, work is infested with manyhazards. More obvious to every one is Fire & Explosion, Releaseof toxic gas such as methane, H2S, BTEX etc. Its, equally,important to make the skilled labors involved in various activities toknow about Emergency escape through awareness. Fordischarging the basic duties, the environment offers extrachallenge that the workforce need to be made aware of. GSperiodically, conducts Emergency drills simulating various scenario& practice it in the work-environment. Also, necessary site specificevacuation plans are made available at Project site .

EHS Training:
Induction, on-the job training are arranged to employees as andwhen required basis. EHS Training passport issued reflects thetraining they under-went. Not merely trainings are planned &conducted internally but also, at times to the requirement of theClient its offered through approved EHS Training centers run bythird party. A few training to name are Basic First Aid, SafeRigging, Basic Scaffold Erection, Fall protection, Confined spaceEntry.Also to identify the trained personnel, GS issues EHS TrainingIdentity Card that will be made available on demand at site.
Newsletter, Hand out & Safety Alerts:
Every Quarter GS issues EHS Newsletter that keeps employee,clients, customer to our services informed of the EHS activities &maintains an indirect contact to reflect their aspirations.Hand-outs highlighting very important EHS issues are circulated, attimes, to make employee get know about it, if so required or toreinforce a practice that’s being followed in the operation. Normallyits aimed to improve EHS performance among work-force. SafetyAlerts are issued as when required basis to circulate learningpoints, change in regulation / work practices.
