It is good to review the year in the Lisle Chamber as we wind down to the end of 2012. I am pleased to report that we kept our membership stable at about 320. We thank all of you for your show of support. Our major programs all experienced increases in attendance and we did better financially. Our dinner dance, 5K/10K, golf outing and 5K Turkey Trot Tune-up all did very well. The Lisle Executive Networking Group (LENG) experienced revitalization and has plans for December which are exciting. Our summer member picnic was a big hit with many of you in attendance. Downtown Cruise Nights were well attended and there was a great spirit in the community. Halloween was a huge downtown event and on Dec 1st the downtown is lit up with 2000 luminarias for the Lights of Lisle Festival. This community event truly showcases beautiful downtown Lisle. Our Business After Hours at the West Suburban Community Pantry drew a huge crowd and featured terrific food and beverages. This organization does so much for those in need and we salute Barbara and Roger Schmith and welcome new Executive Director, Mike McDonnell. We are very pleased with the opening of DuPage Medical Group on Warrenville Rd. This facility will provide 16 different specialty areas with an emphasis on cancer treatment. It will also be an immediate care facility which will be a major benefit to the Lisle area. Welcome to the Lisle Chamber! We had a very enjoyable ribbon-cutting with hundreds of people in attendance and tours of the new building. Special thanks to Maria McGowan for arranging a great event. Congratulations to the Wyndham Lisle for their program benefiting the Paul Hall Community Center and the people in that area of Chicago who would not have much of a Christmas without their generosity. Toys, clothing and food were collected to support hundreds of families. Chef Kevin and General Manager Tammy Madajewski are major organizers for this charity. We look forward to our December programs which include the Strategic Planning Workshop at Benedictine University on the 13th. Our annual meeting at the Wyndham on the 20th will present the new Board of Directors, Volunteer of the Year and Ambassador of the year. This is always a very enjoyable and festive luncheon so dont miss it. We will be celebrating the holidays with Business After Hours on the 19th at the Wyndham so we will enjoy the food and beverages a couple days in a row. We look forward to 2013 as a great year of continued recovery and I wish you all the best for a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanza, and all other holidays!
The mission of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce is to facilitate business relationships and opportunities, to advocate on behalf of our members to governmental bodies and the general public, to promote the best interests of our membership in a fiscally sound and professional manner, and to promote ethical business practices and contribute to the betterment of the community.

Happy Holidays! Here we are, the last month of the year I simply cant believe it. As Ive put together this newsletter entry, Im reminded that this will be the last one I write as the Chairman of the Lisle Area Chamber. I was humbled by the opportunity to serve the Chamber in this capacity for 2012, and as my term of service comes to an end I cant help but thank all of the people in the chamber who have made this such a wonderful experience. We are truly blessed to live and work in a business community full of people who are willing to help you at every turn. It is a tight knit group with a truly entrepreneurial spirit and Ive formed excellent relationships with people I may have otherwise never met, as a direct result of my involvement with the Lisle Area Chamber. Tom, Jill, and Amy conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and their importance to the organizations success cannot be overstated. At the same time, they each bring an enthusiasm and positivity to everything that they do. Can you remember the last time you went to a Chamber event and left without cracking a smile? While all of us are looking to capitalize on opportunities that will promote and grow our business, it is refreshing to be able to do so in a fun and lighthearted venue. Their personal touch allows that to continue, and I thank them for it. All of my fellow board members are magnificently talented people and I only hope that Ive been able to leave them with a fraction of the impact theyve had on me. Thanks to you all for your support, and for the privilege of collaborating on a regular basis. Be excited for whats to come. The chamber continues to evolve to meet the challenges of a dynamic business environment. We have the right people in the right places to continue bringing quality programming, networking, and events to our members. As Paula Gleason moves into my roll at the end of the month, Im very confident in the chambers continued success and look forward to supporting her as she has supported me this past year. Good luck to you all on a strong close to the year, and all the best in 2013 and beyond!

General Membership Luncheon

Remembering Marshall Fields was a book written by historian Leslie Goddard, the speaker at the Lisle Chambers General Membership Luncheon at Pizzeria Bombolas in Lisle. She brought back a nostalgic look at the great customer service and branding that Marshall Fields created. Memories of the lunches under the Christmas Tree at the Walnut Room, festive window decorations Frango Mints, and the historic clock on State and Wabash. A portion of proceeds of Leslies sales of her autographed book was donated to the Chambers scholarship fund.
