The Royal Pavilion
A former royal residence of King George IV, theBrighton Pavilion was adapted from a farmhouse atthe end of the 18th century. John Nash took overthe design in the 19th Century, creating the retreatwhich is now synonymous with the then PrinceRegent. Styled in the Indo-Saracenic architectureprevalent in India during the nineteenth century, theopulent interior mixes lavish Chinese interiors, withAsian exoticism and English eccentricity.
