We feel very proud to bring yet another issue of 'The init Magazine'.Also, we'd like to apologize to our dear readers as we could notpublish this month's issue on time. However, 'better late than never'.From now onwards our 'the init magazine' will be published on 1st of each calendar month. Thank you all!From this issue we have started a new section - Guest. In this sectionwe'll publish the articles submitted by non IOE students. This month yet another version of KDE - v4.2 code named 'TheAnswer' was released. Find the review of slick and sexy KDE 4.2inside.I hope you'll enjoy this issue like the previous three. Do share theword around about the magazine. Send us your articles andencourage your friends too. Besides articles, feedbacks andsuggestions are also most welcome. There havebeen free and open source vendorsselling solutions in this space for over15 years. At no stage do open sourcelicenses preclude the commercialexploitation of the software. Opensource licenses are not anti-commercial; they are anti lock-in. Opensource is not suddenly going'commercial'; it always has been.Write a program, but have two versionsof it. One version is licensed for retailconsumption and must be paid to use. The second version is licensed underGPL (General Public License) or similarOSS license, but can't be used for retailpurposes; it can only be used forcontinuing open-source ideas. Forexample, say I created a databaseprogram. The first version you have tobuy from me but you're free to use itfor your company to create profits foryou. The other version is GPLed andtotally free financially, but you can useit only for non-financial purposes.
