The Benefits Of Meditation –
Why All The Confusion? Meditation is often not what you think it is...
It is quite common that most people are confused on the topic of meditation. Withall the techniques and concepts that are in circulation it is quite daunting and most timeswe get lost in the maze of “how to do meditation correctly”, and often we are not clear ofwhat we are actually mediating for. We are told that it is good for us, then we try to get atechnique then we aspire to get it right. However this is not best way to approachmeditation. It is quite a simple and easy process and not the complicated and confusingprocess we often make of it.
Meditation is really about “self inquiry”.
Meditation is the opportunity to go within and experience a deeper connectednesswith our Self. The self that is more than just our personality or our thoughts or ouremotions. The Self that is our Spirit, the awareness of a deeper Presence which we arealways abiding in. However we often do not realise this deeper truth of the true nature ofour being as we become so busy that we do not let go of the outside world to reflectwithin. To actually realise that there is space and support within us right now. A directexperience of a presence which can be sensed in such ways as an easier and moreexpanded life flow, a peacefulness, calmness, quietness and connectedness. When we truly let go and just allow ourselves to BE we enable the experience thesimpleness of our true nature and the essence which exists within all of life. Most of usdo not even know what our true nature is, nor have we ever attempted to look, especially within. We are more than just our superficial behaviours. However if we donot let go of the surface and dive deeper into our experience of humanity then we areunable to experience the true nature of Being.Often times many of us come to challenges in our lives that cause us maybe a littleor even an enormous amount of suffering and disturbance. It usually around these timesthat we start to look deeper as to the meaning of our lives. Mainly because we realiseour way is not working and we start looking for solutions to our problems. However lifeis an organic flow. Whether we realise this or not, there is an innate intelligence withinus that is actually living our life, not the other way around and determining our lifeexperiences. Life is all about evolving. We are here to keep growing and changing. Thesearch for the truth at some point in our life will arise, determined by what your real lifeprocess is about.
