We are excited to be working on a specialservice for Easter Sunday. We welcome all sing-ers, high school age and up! The style of musicwill be more formal, reflective and moving andincludes many songs with rich heritage in thechurch. Travis and Beth Wilkins will help us runsectionals, learn our parts, and give us direction. The choir will sing from folders and musicwill not need to be memorized. This worshipexperience will include 4 selections presented by the full choir,3 songs by a vocal ensemble and congregational singing. Ratherthan recorded tracks, we willbe accompanied by the organ, piano, or cello. Would youbegin to pray for this effort?Would you pray about yourown involvement and wouldyou also help us to recruitother singers to join us? We are looking for moremusicians to join us and especially looking for string instrumentssuch as violin, viola and cello. We also have room for anotherflute and possibly an oboe player. We performed about 25 timesas a group last year not only here at FFC, but also at nursinghomes, malls, coffee shops, IMMC and ILH hospitals, privateparties and bookstores. We would like to continue practicing andperforming classical and Christian music throughout the year inmany different venues this year as well. We have selected a widerange of music to begin practicing and are inviting you to give usa try. There is no fee to join and practices will be once every twoweeks at FFC on Thursday evenings, 7-9
PM
. At many of our per-formances we look to incorporate scripture reading, testimonials, historical stories and maybe work in some singing as well. Thiswill be a fun way to share Christ with the community. If you areinterested you can talk to Dave Blake (the cello guy) in church, call me at 270.9722 or write me at Blakede@ihs.org.
