Response to Super Storm Sandy
After tropical storm winds and rain pummelled the East Coast eight agencies are stillrecovering. We pray for them and those they continue to serve this Thanksgiving. Iencourage you to especially pray for your fellow members of the VMN who areinundated with volunteer requests. Let us also pray for the folks (some VMN members) who have selflessly deployed to provide disaster case management in New Jersey overthe holiday time. God bless your service.

National Access
Over the last month I, Matthew Price, have been able to meet with folks at an annualconvening by the National Human Services Assembly. It is a membership organizationof folks from Association for Jewish Family & Children's Agencies, American Red Cross, WCA, etc. I share this with you in case you had any questions about these organizationsor wanted to learn about local parternships.I also met with Megan Haddock, a researcher from Johns Hopkins University. Shestudies international volunteerism. She mentioned a paper in process that measures volunteerism and its positive impact on organizations. I will disseminate the study onceit is complete!
Happy Thanksgiving from the Volunteer Managers Network!
