I applaud RMS6280 for having the courage to join the rest of us on the Democrat Party's political hit list. Yes, it's interesting that wherever liberals have been--and remain--in power, poverty flourishes; it gets worse. Democrats, the party of slaveholders and slave traders, are a mean-spirited bunch bent on creating two classes--rich and privileged Democrats and those they govern.

Interesting..... Poverty in Our Cities. City, State, % of People Below the Poverty Level 1. Detroit , MI 32.5% 2. Buffalo , NY 29.9% 3. Cincinnati , OH 27.8% 4. Cleveland , OH 27.0% 5. Miami , FL 26.9% 5. St. Louis , MO 26.8% 7. El Paso , TX 26.4% 8. Milwaukee , WI 26.2% 9. Philadelphia , PA 25.1% 10. Newark , NJ 24.2% U.S. Census Bureau, 2006 American Community Survey, August 2007 What do the top ten cities (over 250,000) with the highest poverty rate all have in common? Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1961; Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn't elected one since 1954; Cincinnati , OH (3rd)...since 1984; Cleveland , OH (4th)...since 1989; Miami , FL (5th) has never had a Republican mayor; St. Louis , MO (6th)....since 1949; El Paso , TX (7th) has never had a Republican mayor; Milwaukee , WI (8th)...since 1908; Philadelphia , PA (9th)...since 1952; Newark , NJ (10th)...since 1907. Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still ................... POOR "You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." Abraham Lincoln ..........................and Mr. Obama, you are no Abe Lincoln

This is the beginning of communism in this country. God Help Us!!

did you know this bill is pushing though legislation that could disinfranshise the medical industry thus affecting how you get quality health care Not Good for the American people we should have the ability to vote on this I vote no because it is a 20 century proposal in a 21st century economy. we hold the power to fix the ecomony not the government. Government handouts hinder this county. We need to becaome more self sufficent as Americans and work together. If this stumulus fails we will foot the bill. This bill is one step to a socialist nation. Give the goverment back to the people,

"Fubar"--f***ed up beyond all recognition (read "Battle Cry" by Leon Uris)--aptly describes the current mess created by Senators Dodd and Frank, among other liberals, including your current president, through their machinations and greed as they pertain to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the federal home loan and banking systems. Liberals created this economic downturn, not George Bush, who simply reacted (perhaps inefficaciously) to it, so get off your high horse and step down into the muck of reality, will ya? As for Ayn Rand, she can only be taken seriously by Spenserian egomaniacs. Yes, I have read all her work--beginning with "Atlas Shrugged", "Anthem", and "The Fountainhead" when I was 14. Selfishness can never be a virtue, except that the selfish person is an atheist. Folks who prattle on about the evils of the Bush tax cuts have learned little to nothing about history and economics. Growth in personal and national fiscal well-being has never been created by Government--that's a fact. Too often, as readily illustrated for those with an apolitical bent of mind by the case of the apotheosed FDR and his New Deal, government intervention prolongs the problem. Economics and politics 100: Tax cuts create capital; money, which banks and companies need to invest in new ventures; new opportunities, which require additional trained employees, all without artificially creating overwhelming national debt that liberals rant about every time Republicans gain control of the White House or the Congress. Having said that, I will add that folks, unless they are a subhuman species and a lower life form, are obligated to take care of those who cannot do so for themselves. Some poor folk are poor through no fault of their own. These folks, the ones working hard and never giving up, must--and will--be afforded every opportunity by true Christians, true Republicans, and true Blue Dog Democrats. Policies kept in place by so-called liberals (prior to 1974, a liberal was someone who valued liberty for all without the stultifying intrusion of bureaucrats and other federal functionaries) have scarcely helped, or poverty should have been eradicated, though as for that, we have a peculiar sort of poverty in this country, in which some poor folk own cell phones (I can't even afford a cell phone) and more than one television (I have one, and it isn't flat-screen or other high-end modern TV). Providing training and job opportunities raises folks. Creating a class dependent on governmental handouts keeps liberals and other thieves in power. Who really cares about you? The answer starts with you, it is you, and it ends with you. Leave Government out of the equation, or you will live your life always less than you could be and have every right to be.

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." -John Gault/Ayn Rand

Please senators stop doing interviews and get to work. The American people elected you to go to work on their behalf. No more Bush tax cut The people are hurting. Most of you are too old to be in the senate. Talk to everyday people and stop looking for a tv camera
