Mike:
Now Mark, youstudy, or you doAikido. Is that right?
Mark:
Yeah, I startedstudying Aikido when Iwas about 15 yearsold.
Mike:
And what gotyou interested inAikido?
Mark:
Well, I saw ademonstration at achurch one time andimmediately fell inlove with it, and itworks out greatbecause I'm not thatbig of a guy andAikido is a kind of martial art wheresmall people canthrow big people.
Mike:
Do you get a lotof chances to throwbig people?
Mark:
Well, notrecently, but definitelywhen I was practicing,when I was studying,it would be interestingbecause some bigguys would come intothe class and theywanted to show thatthey were very tough,and, but usually theywere the easiest tothrow.
Mike:
Because theyhave the extraweight?
Mark:
Well, yeah,because theyattacked and they, intheir lives, they're soused to using lots of strength, so their attack would be veryhard and in Aikido, theharder you attack, theeasier it is to throw.
Mike:
Now, whatinterests you, or whatdo you like the mostabout Aikido?
Mark:
Well, I guess atfirst, like any martialart, I just like the ideaof I can defend myself if someone attacksme, but later, I justreally enjoyed theexercise of it, and youlearn some really cooltechniques that, howto take someone off balance or to throwthem and it's reallyeasy after you study itfor awhile.
