Find ONE of the following: a) Something that appreciates over time (value goes up over several months/years) b) Something that depreciates over time (value goes down over several months/years) c) The cost of something 10, 20, 30 years ago, and the price today Use the item and data you found to answer these questions: 1. Identify the item you have chosen and the website you used to get your information. 2. Create a graph that shows the appreciation, depreciation or change in value over at least 10 periods of time (months or years) 3. Does the information (your data) represent a relation or a function? 4. Is the data continuous or discrete? 5. What is the domain and range for your data? 6. In your graph, what is the y-intercept and what does it mean? 7. In your graph, what is the rate of change? (dont forget the units) 8. Write an equation that best represents your data. a. If your data is a linear function, write the equation in slope-intercept form. b. If your data varies, use your calculator to find a line of best fit (linear regression) Create a mini-poster (8 by 11) of your data. Include pictures, a graph, a title, and an equation. Write the answers to the 8 questions above on a separate sheet of paper and staple it to your mini-poster.
