Understanding the Constellation


- A constellation
tellation is a group of stars that form a certain pattern in the sky.
- Examples of constellation are shown as follows.
(a) The Southern Cross can be seen as a brilliant cross.
(b) The Big Dipper is a group of seven bright stars that can be seen as a bowl with a handle.

The Southern Cross and the Big Dipper can seen between April and June around 8.00

(a) The Scorpion can be seen as a scorpion. It can be seen between June and August
(b) Orion can be seen as a hunter with a belt and sword. In can be seen between December
and February.

Farmers used constellation as indicators of the planting and harvesting seasons.
