National Jr. Honor Society will be selling Candy Cane Grams on Monday, December 10th thru Thursday the 13th after school and during lunch as a fund raiser. The Candy Canes are $0.50 a piece, or 5 for $2 and will be delivered on Tuesday, December 18th. All the profits will go towards helping the Erie Optimist Club and Operation Santa. If you would like to purchase a candy cane to be delivered to you son or daughter, just send a note with To and From listed and money in an envelope to school labeled NJHS to the front office. Thanks in advance for supporting this worthy NJHS project.

During the last week of school before Winter Break (12/10-12/14), a group of 7th grade students calling themselves SOS (Save Our Society) will be selling hand-made crafts before and after school. These students are really excited about raising money to support the relief efforts of 'World Vision' - a nonprofit organization focused on international aid. So.... there will be all kinds of goodies, from snacks to beaded jewelry to duct-tape crafts, to hand-knit scarves..all at VERY reasonable prices. Every cent they raise will be designated for Syrian war refugees, specifically all the children who have been affected. They need all the provision and warmth we can give them this time of year. That said, we need some donated items to get these crafts assembled! If you have any items to give, please bring them to the office, and let them know they are for SOS, or Mrs. Kemp. The list: solid colored or striped (not white) men's-sized t-shirts, yarn, duct tape, glitter, beads, fishing line, costume jewelry, strips of leather, crochet hooks, knitting needles. Thank you in advance! Kate Denning Kemp 7th Grade Language Arts Erie Middle School 303-828-3391 https://sites.google.com/a/svvsd.org/kempcafe/home

Lost & Found Items: We have many lost and found items in the Cafetorium. Please look for lost lunch boxes, coats, etc. Whatever is left when we leave for holiday break will be donated to Our Center in Longmont. Thank you! EMS Custodians

Parents/Guardians: We are in full swing with our Box Tops Across America contest! Every student has brought home a school-addressed envelope and a note explaining to receiver that we are trying to collect box tops from every state! MAKE SURE you fill in your name and teacher name before mailing. You can send the envelope and note separately, or slip them into a holiday card. We encourage you to make copies of the note and send envelopes to everyone you know. If you could include a stamp on the envelope, that would encourage participation. There will be a US map hanging in the cafeteria. We will put a push pin in each state as we receive box tops from that state. The grade level that collects from the most states will receive an extra recess. If all 50 states are covered, every grade level will win! We will use the postmark on the envelope to count for the state. Each grade level will receive CO as a start. I also want to encourage everyone to collect their own box tops over Winter Break! There will be ten drawings for a Wendys Frosty. Collect your box tops and send in a Ziploc bag, envelope, etc. marked with your name and teacher name. Be sure to ask friends/coworkers/family to save for you! All box tops must be received by January 10, 2013. Thank you for supporting Erie Middle School and turning your Trash Into Cash!
