Designated Bus and Media Parking forRight
to-Work Event
The City of Lansing Public Service Department announces that
beginning after 5:00 p.m.Monday, December 10, 2012, the City will be designating specific parking areas for busesand media arriving in town to cover the Right-to-Work events at the State Capital.Media Parking
 In order to ensure public safety and provide for an organized and efficient environment for activitiesat the State Capital, the City has designated three parking areas available for media parking. Theattached map indicates the areas reserved for media parking: North side of Allegan from Walnut toCapitol, Townsend from Washtenaw to Allegan, and Michigan from Washington to Grand Ave.Unauthorized vehicles that are parked in these areas will be subject to towing at their cost.
Bus Parking
The City will be welcoming in the many buses that are carrying visitors to the City and arranging for specific drop off and parking locations to accommodate the number of visitors expected this week. All bus traffic is directed to use I-496 and take exit 7 and continue to northbound Larch St.(BL-96) toMichigan Ave. The drop off point will be located on the north side of Michigan Avenue betweenCedar Street and Grand Avenue (in front of the Lansing Center). Buses will then be directed to thedesignated parking area. The primary location is Union Missionary Baptist Church (500 S. MartinLuther King Jr. Blvd). City staff will be available at the drop off location on Michigan Avenue todistribute the attached map to assist the bus drivers to the parking area.######
