CHRISTMAS GIFTFamilies gather around Christmas trees,Over indulgence is the name of game at parties,Excitement builds up in children as they wait with expectancy,Will Santa Clause bring them that toy or video game they fancy?Hustle and bustle around main streets as shoppers shop ,Many in frustration wonder will the rush ever stop?Others worry about the amount they have spent,Wondering if they will ever pay back what they have borrowed on credit. For some during this time of celebration,In this credit crunch they are facing eviction,For some this a time of sadness for they have been recently bereaved,The Salvation Army gather in the streets carol singing, but is the message really received? There is something wonderful about Christmas,
all the glitter and the razzmatazz,
Don’t get me wrong I
love seeing a well `lit Christmas tree,.A Turkey dinner and all the trimmings followed by a sweet. But that stuff is not all what Christmas is about,
For me it’s time to t
ruly celebrate,For I have received the best gift of all and I just have to shout,2,000 years ago God gave us a gift that is just so great. He sent His son Jesus into this world of men,From heaven to earth He was sent,You ask me but why did He come,A baby born; to a virgin mum?God sent Jesus as a free gift to us,Because Jesus the Christ child came to die for you and I,The cross is the gateway to new life for us,The gift we are offered is salvation, accept it , you will live and not die.The best gift of all, is knowing Jesus,A free gift that comes with eternal promise,With sins forgiven we will live eternally with the Lord,365 days a year can be a time to sing praises to the Lord.So what does Christmas mean to you this Christmas? If you are troubled and hurting let me tell you Jesus is the healer,Physical, emotional financial needs He will meet of the seeker,
It’s time dear friends to find meaning to Christmas that lasts.
Accept the best gift of all this Christmas,Come to truly know the Christ of Christmas,He will give you joy even in moments of sadness,For in knowing Jesus Christ you will know the greatest gladness.
