CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY

Participants are requested to make their own reservations as early as possible. Below is the list of hotels/inns and their contact numbers. All room rates are subject to change without prior notice.

The City of Golden Friendship Cagayan de Oro City beckons us to its warm hospitality amidst the bustling city life. The fast modernizing city nestled between the seas and verdant mountains of Northern Mindanao is the ideal venue of the 22nd National Scientific Conference of the Federation of the Crop Science Societies of the Philippines (FCSSP). It is one of the leading agri-based cities where much of the livelihood and trade is anchored on farm technologies developed through plant science research. It is in fact home to many local and international, small and corporate-size agri-enterprises. I thus invite all of you members of the Crop Science Society of the Philippines, the Philippine Association of Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology, the Philippine Seed Industry Association and the Philippine Fruit Association, and others engaged in farming to come and enjoy our joint convention under the Federation on March 1116, 2013 at the Pearlmont Inn. The convention will feature plenary talks by outstanding, multi-awarded, and internationally recognized scientists. Parallel talks and poster sessions are guaranteed to offer exciting developments, stimulate interaction and foster research collaboration among us. The widely popular Agri-Entrepreneurs Forum will once again address pressing problems facing the agricultural sector of the region a sure hit for the farmers. The conference will also be a time to honor our distinguished colleagues who have served well the profession, the farmers and the country, with commitment, passion, and excellence worthy of emulation. And no matter how serious and business-like we wish to be, we cannot help sprinkle fun throughout the conference, and just to be sure, it will be capped by a whole-day tour of the agri-eco spots of the city and vicinity. With the theme Innovative Crop Technologies for More Food and Fun, we can tackle the serious business of feeding our population in fun and enjoyable ways. See you at the conference with your technologies to share, attentive minds, and wide smiles. Mabuhay! GABRIEL O. ROMERO Chair, FCCSP President, CSSP
