:Subject: Deficiency Statement – Request for Additional Information – Various Topics – NewProsperity Gold-Copper Mine Project Environmental Impact StatementDear Ms. Gizikoff:The Federal Review Panel (the Panel) responsible for reviewing the New Prosperity Gold-Copper Mine project has completed its review of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)submitted by Taseko Mines Ltd. (Taseko) on September 26, 2012. The Panel also reviewed andconsidered all comments received from the various participants as part of the 45-day publicreview and comment period.Based on its own review and on the comments received, the Panel has determined thatadditional information is required to support and supplement the information provided in the EISand to fulfill the requirements of the EIS Guidelines issued in March 2012. Attached to this letteris a list of information requests and the rationale for the requested information. This list ofinformation requests is in addition to the information request on cumulative effects assessments(IR 1) submitted by the Panel on November 26, 2012. The Panel requests that Taseko providethe requested information in a complete and timely manner. For planning purposes, the Panelwould also appreciate receiving an indication of the time you expect will be required to respondto all the information requests.The Panel is of the view that the additional information requested is necessary for the Panel todetermine if the EIS is sufficient to proceed to public hearing. Once all the requested informationis submitted, the Panel will determine whether there is a need to provide a 15-day publiccomment period based on the additional information provided, or to proceed to scheduling thepublic hearing.Please note that the time required by Taseko to respond to any information requested by thePanel is not included in the timeline remaining for the Panel to complete its review.
