BEING A BLOGGER…
Benefits of blogger
1)
Easy to manage
. A blog can be set up by even a novice in no time. All you have to do is postand publish. Blogging can get as simple as that or even more complex.2)
Easy to update
. Blogs can be updated weekly or daily instead of sometimes monthly for astatic website. Even adding a few paragraphs a day can be done in no time and can be beneficialto your search rankings.3)
Get spidered quickly
. Search engine spiders crawl blogs with greater frequency than staticwebpages. I have had webpages that took over eight months to be indexed in Google where asYahoo sometimes index my blogs in weeks sometimes days.4) If you write
articles
then you can post all of them on your blog in addition to
free reprintcontent that is widely available
everywhere. The more content you have the better.5) You can
get your website indexed quicker
. An article or a piece of news about your websitewith an optimize anchor link will send the spiders your way in no time.6)
Sell advertising space
. If you have a popular blog then you can create a revenue stream byselling ad space. Blogads is one of several places where you can sell your ad space to major companies.7) Similar to offering ad space, you can add Adsense to your blog to monetize your content. What I love about Blogger is that once you plug in the Adsense code into your main template, anew page is created and Adsense is automatically displayed when you make a post.8)
Review your affiliate products
. If you have a blog that is in a niche then you can findaffiliate programs for that niche and do reviews of them for a commission. Every time someone purchases the product or service through your link you make money.9) It is still early to catch on. Blogs and RSS feeds are used by the minority of internet userswhich makes it excellent for you to start blogging right now. Less than 10% of the Americanswhich is the
biggest online market
use this emerging trend.
10)
Can be syndicated
. An easy way for your readers to stay in touch withupdates is to add your blog to their My Yahoo and My MSN. They can see the latestinformation and how long ago it was added.

Advantages of blogs
1.Freedom of speech2.Share knowledge with other people3.Make friends online4.Can be used as a diary
Disadvantages of blogs
1.Need to keep it constantly updated otherwise you lose potential readers2.Easy to start, hard to maintain
The advantages of blogs from an organizational perspective include the following:1.The consumer and citizen are potentially better informed and this can only be good for the long-term health of our societies and economies.
2.
Blogs have potential to help the organization
develop stronger relationships
and brand loyaltywith its customers, as they interact with the ‘human face’ of the organization through blogs.
3.
Blogs, in an
intranet environment
, can be an excellent way of sharing knowledge within theorganization.
4.
Blogs can be a
positive way of getting feedback
, and keeping your finger on the pulse, asreaders react to certain pieces, suggest story ideas, etc.
5.
Blogs can
build the profile of the writer
, showcasing the organization as having talent andexpertise. The disadvantages of blogs are:
1.
Most people don’t have very much to say that’s interesting, and/or are
unable to write downtheir ideas in a compelling and clear manner
.
2.
I have often found that the people who have most time to write
have least to say
, and the peoplewho have most to say don’t have enough time to write it. Thus, the real expertise within theorganization lays hidden, as you get drowned in trivia.
3.
Like practically everything else on the Web, blogs are
easy to start and hard to maintain
.Writing coherently is one of the most difficult and time-consuming tasks for a human being toundertake. So, far from blogs being a cheap strategy, they are a very expensive one, in that theyeat up time. As a result, many blogs are not updated, thus damaging rather than enhancing the
reputation of the
organization.
4.
Organizations are not democracies
. The Web makes many organizations look likedisorganizations, with multiple tones and opinions. Contrary to what some might think, theaverage customer prefers it if the organization they are about to purchase from is at leastsomewhat coherent.
