This book will attempt to elevate the appreciation and reveal the multidimensional realities of Hip-Hop culture. I invite the reader not just to read the book straight through, but to pair up with a friend or a group and discuss each point revealed. For when I wrote this book, I did not attempt to write the usual story about rap music. Rather, I was attempting to take it out of it’s usual context and place it upon a pedestal to raise the integrity and perception of this art form. It is my wish that this work will cause many discussions among the artists and lay persons of the genre. I was, however, somewhat skeptical about writing this, because I didn’t think others viewed it as serious as I did. Nevertheless, I was encouraged by my fellow colleagues to pursue the book. In preparation for this book, I called upon many resources. One being my study of Art Aesthetics and Criticism which was apart of my Art Education background. A book of this contents main purpose is to educate those outside of this culture called Hip-Hop about the dimensions, origin, and function. This work will open the eyes of the blind to the beauty and importance of this art form and the culture that produced it.
