This year’s Barney’s of New YorkChristmaswindowdisplay includes Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and
Goofy looking noticeably slim. Critics say the display promotes bodyimage issues within young girls. Disney spokesperson Nadia Tatalovich(Tah-tah-loave-ich) defends the display,NADIA: The only place these interpretive versions of the Disneycharacters make an appearance is in the 3-minute moving artvideo and only briefly in a 7-second sequence. At the end of thevideo, Minnie appears in her regular classic form.ANNCR: There is an online petition to stop the makeover, but as of now thereare no plans to change the display.ANNCR: Students of Rider University in Lawrenceville are still buzzing over awebsite designed to rate pictures of the girls on campus. The RateRider website, allows visitors to view pictures of two female students,and then decide which one is better looking. Campus officials areworking to get the website removed.
