Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, andother Hollywood celebrities makesure toput on their designer glasseswhen they
go out. It’s not just a
dictate of fashion though; wearingcorrective and protective spectacles is known to prevent the onset of cataracts
and other problematic eye conditions. With the worsening effects of the sun’s
intense UV rays, eye professionals claim that wearing these optical provisions is amust for every single time the sun is shining brightly. They protect your eyes, andwith the amazing designs of eyewear these days, you get to upgrade your overallget-up as well.Unfortunately though, recent studies reveal that only 4 out of 10 adults thatfrequent beaches, parks and pools are protecting their eyes. UK opticiansexpressed great concern about this figure because considering how easy andfashionable it is to wear glasses, many still obviously neglect to put one on.
The study also shows that despite women’s natural inclination towards fashion,
they are not much more likely than men to protect their eyes from the sun andeven wear their right prescription glasses when they need to. Also, beachgoersare actually less apt to don shades (36.2%) than people at parks (48.1%) and pools(51.3%). It was also disclosed that only 12.3% of children wear sunglasses, whichis very concerning because London eye health professionals report that cataract-causing damage can actually start even before the age of 18!
