National Conference on Social Entrepreneurship

This is the 5
edition of the Conference, which has been organised since last 4 years on specific themes(viz., Providing Access for Sustainable Development in ’09, Solutions for Inclusive Development in ’10,
Youth Development & Social Entrepreneurship in ’11 & Entrepreneurship for Rural Revival in ‘12). The
purpose of the conference has been to bring together co-professionals in development/social sector(social entrepreneurs, CBOs/NGOs, government agencies, support organizations, corporate foundations,academics, etc. - and students) on a common platform - to share their experiences, learn from eachother, and co-create solutions. The conference normally attracts participation from about 150-170 sectorprofessionals.During last few years, livelihood promotion, skill development and vocational training have opened upimmense possibilities for entrepreneurship, and have sprouted many innovative social entrepreneurialmodels. Moreover, these goals are also emerging a significant national priority, as envisaged in NationalSkill Development Mission, National Rural Livelihood Mission and National Urban Livelihoods Mission.
Correspondingly, this year, the conference theme –
Innovations in Livelihood Promotion and SkillDevelopment
- aims to provide a space and opportunity to explore the opportunities and challenges forinitiatives and social ventures in this sector.The conference design will entail the following panel sessions, where social entrepreneurs/ developmentsector professionals will share their experiences, issues and challenges:
