Plaintiffs Digital Content Protection, L.L.C. (“DCP”) and Warner Bros. EntertainmentInc. (“Warner Bros.”) hereby allege as follows:
NATURE OF THE ACTION
1. This is an action seeking damages, injunctive and other equitable relief, andattorneys’ fees arising out of Defendants’ manufacture, importation, offering to the public,provision of, or otherwise trafficking in devices primarily designed to or produced for thepurpose of circumventing the effective technological measure known as High-BandwidthDigital Content Protection (“HDCP”).2. HDCP is built into nearly all modern electronic equipment, including set-topboxes, DVD players, personal computers, game consoles, and display devices like highdefinition televisions (“HDTVs”) (collectively “Home Entertainment Devices”).
