Objectives
Theaimistoletyoungmindsfeelthethrillandexcitementofscienceby workingon a projectrequiringapplicationandcriticalappreciationof scientificprinciples. It also aims at active participation in the learning process through experimentation and putting into practice the knowledge acquired in the classrooms. The program gives students an opportunity to gain researchexperienceandworkcloselywithascientist.

Programme:
SummerTraining / ProjectWork(PW)/DissertationWork(DW) Period of training: March to August 2010 (minimum 2 months
maximum6months).

Eligibility: The Student must be pursuing Postgraduate course from a recognizedUniversity/institute/collegeintherelevantarea. He/ She must have secured at least 60% marks throughout his/ her academiccareer(FromHighSchoolonwards). Training shouldbeessentialforthecandidatescoursecurriculum.

Howtoapply
Application in plain paper mentioning applicants name, address for correspondence, email address, phone number are required to be indicated. BioDataandacademicrecordsoftheStudentmentioningpercentage of marks obtained in different examinations from school final onwards indicating name of the college/University/Institute where studied.(Donotsendphotocopyoftheresults) Marks obtained in grade point, ifany, is required to becalculated in termsofpercentage. Onlyhardcopy ofthedocumentswillbeaccepted. Original Copy of the Recommendation Letter of the Principal/ Registrar/HeadoftheInstitution/University,mentioningthetraining programmesoughtisessentialforthecandidatescoursecurriculum. Area(s) in which training is requested is to be mentioned. [Different areas of ongoing Research work can be available at IICB website www.iicb.res.in]. Selection/Result After screening the valid applications and subject to availability of accommodation in different scientists laboratory, name of the selected candidateswillbepostedinIICBwebsitewww.iicb.res.intentativelyinthe 3rdweekofJanuary2010. TrainingFees&Accommodation There arenofeesortuition costsassociated withparticipation inthe summertraining/projectworkordissertation. The students have to make their own arrangements for accommodationinKolkata,ifselected. NOTE:
Incomplete and invalid applications in any respect will be summarily rejected&nocorrespondenceinthisregardwillbeentertained. Applicationsreceivedaftertheclosingdatewillnotbeentertainedonany ground including postal delay. The decisions about the selection will be finalandnocorrespondencewillbeentertainedinthisregard.
