Description

The recorded music industry is reinventing itself and its business models. Our world in 2009 looks fundamentally different from how it looked five years ago. Record companies have changed their whole approach to doing business, reshaped their operations and responded to the dramatic transformation in the way music is distributed and consumed.

The music business, like others, goes into 2009 under the uncertain cloud of the global economic downturn. However, we are no stranger to the need to reform, restructure and reinvent. Record companies began this process many years ago. They are, I believe, as a result, better placed than many other sectors to
manage through more difficult times.
