ake is 8 years old, and doing 4
grade work in our homeschool. He is beginning to enjoy singing more than he had previously and is learning to harmonize on a few songs with his sister and mom. In just a few years he will be auditioning for the CHEA Homeschool Choir! Jake enjoys 4H, along with his siblings, and is taking a class on dogs this semester.What he is learning will come in handy when our Golden Retriever, Sadie, has her puppies in mid-December!
ulia is 7 and is doing 1
grade work in our homeschool. She is enjoying taking sewing at 4H where she was the first in the class to complete her embroidery squares. Now she wants to sew all the ripped seams and put on all the missing buttons in the household! Julia has also initiated speaking to abortion- determined mamas about how their babies love them and want to dig into that 1
llie is 5 years old and is doing K5 work. In her studies, she has proven to be quite artistically gifted and is enjoying drawing, as well as telling time, and learning phonics in preparation to read. Ellie is
old enough to be in 4H, where she enjoys working on her quilting project in the sewing class! We look forward to seeing how God will use all these artistic talents in her future!
udah will be 4 years old the day after Christmas and is still our rough and tumble little guy! On any given day you might find him in a pile of leaves, up high (stuck) in a tree or down digging in the dirt with sticks. His favorite activity is pretty much anything that involves dirt, speed and noise!
love for baby dolls was upstaged when she became a joyful big sister! When she wants to hold Emmaleigh she brings us a pillow and motions for us to place her baby sister in her arms! Eva has a love for animals and enjoys imitating and waving hello to them. She also enjoys imitating her big brothers and sisters by joining them in prayer to Jesus every night during family worship. oy is the newest blessing to our family! She was born on July 13
after the quickest labor of all (7 ½ hours)! She is a sweetheart who smiles and giggles throughout the day. Thanks to
Emmaleigh’s arrival, we are now fondly
referring to our family as The Metzger Dozen! Emmaleigh is a much-loved and much-kissed addition to our busy and blessed household!
ark continues to get deeper into real estate activities even as his financial advisory practice grows. This year included overseeing a complete house renovation for a property we are selling.He made some big changes to his diet and now exercises regularly! The children,especially Judah, often join Daddy for his workout. Watching a three year old happily imitate Daddy is great fun! Thanks to that encouragement (A.K.A.hilarious entertainment), Mark is now 2/3rds of the man that he used to be!
isa has found it equally as rewarding to continue home educating the children,while balancing the weekday family ministry and advising 3-6 people per week on how to start a similar ministry in their area of the country. This year she
also began doing “Mommy Dates” with
each of the children, so as to keep up
with the weekly “Daddy Dates” that
Mark has been doing for quite some time.

omeschooling has allowed our family to enjoy field trips like a tractor ride on a
farm at harvest time, a visit to good ol’
Johnny Appleseed, a stop-in at President
James K. Polk’s home and a tour of the
local police department!
arch , we went to a three day homeschool convention in Spartanburg,S.C., called Teach Them Diligently. The children enjoyed meeting the author of their much-loved history program, as well as spending time with friends! Mark and Lisa enjoyed hearing encouraging speakers,visiting with friends and shopping at the book fair!
