Job Description:
Intern will work with the Broadmoor Improvement Association’s library committee to make preparations for the coffee shop that will operate outof the Rosa F. Keller Library and Community Center. The facility will beundergoing a $5 million renovation, and as a fundraising partner of theNew Orleans Public Library, the BIA has a voice in the activities that willoccur at the facility. The intern will create a business and operations planfor the community center’s coffee house, which will include menu options,layout, hours, and staffing schedule.
Overview of Responsibility:

Research best practices of coffee shops.-
Research menu options and price schedules.-
Assess costs of operations, supplies, and staffing.-
Work with community members to assess the desires of thecommunity with respect to coffee shop services.-
Work with New Orleans Public Library to increase communicationbetween the library and the BIA.
Position Requirements:

Intern must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.-
Past program development experience helpful, but we expect to haveto teach you how to do this if you are a highly motivated, self-directed,responsible person with a track record of successful achievements.-
Intern must be able to work alone and with team members.-
Intern must be able to think, work, and function independently.

Must be entering junior or senior year in college.

A laptop or computer.

Full time availability (40 hours/week).
