Job Description:
Intern will work with the Broadmoor Development Corporation, Directorof Housing Recovery, to produce materials to assist fundraising efforts tosecure monies needed to rebuild neighborhood homes. The averageresident applying for rebuild assistance through the BDC has severalthousands of dollars in unmet construction needs that was not duly compensated through federal assistance programs. The job of theDevelopment Intern is to document both unmet needs and success storiesof Broadmoor residents working with the BDC. Most importantly, internmust have excellent writing skills and a familiarity using a mixture of media(i.e. photo, video, layout, web design, etc…) is preferred. Must have strong oral communication skills and be comfortable visiting resident homes andinteracting with the local community. Expected outcome from internship isto produce material for the unmet needs of all residents working with theBDC, compile success stories of families that have already been served, andproduce templates and prepare BDC/BIA staff to generate these materialsin the future. A typical day involves meeting with local residents, gathering testimony and office time producing materials.
Overview of Responsibility:

Communicate with residents to assess both individual and community needs.-
Identify potential funding sources that may meet needs of residents.-
Articulate needs in grant proposals and PR materials.-
Create public relations materials in several forms featuring successes of residents.-
Other tasks as needed.
Position Requirements:

Intern must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.-
Past experience or familiarity with PR technology helpful.
