On The Gravitomagnetism And Its Consequences

Intheframeworkofunifyinghydrodynamicswithelectrodynamicswehaveshownthataccelerating (spinning)objectsemitgravitationalwaveasthosedeterminedbyLarmorformulafortheacceleratingchargedparticle.WehavefoundnewformulaeforthepowerofGravitationalwavesradiatebyspinningandorbitingobjects.Limitingvaluesforthewavelengthoftheradiatedlightforob-  jectshavingatypicalsolarmassandradiusisintherangeofx-rays.Thegravitomagneticelds producedbyMercury,Earth,JupiterandSunarecalculatedandMercuryisfoundtoproducedthe largestvalue. 
1. Introduction
In1916AlbertEinsteinpredictedbasedonGeneralRelativitythatvibrating(accelerated) massesshouldcreategravitationalwaves.Butbecauseoftheweakstrengthofgravity,onlenormousmassesundergoinghugeaccelerationswouldformgravitationalwaveswithstrong enougheectstobebarelydetectable.Gravitywaveshavenotyetbeendetecteddirectly.However,thepredictedinuenceofgravitationalwavesonabinarypulsarwasmeasuredbyTaylor andHulse.Arapidlyspinningneutronstaremitstwobeamsofradiowavesalongitsmagnetiaxes.Whenthespinaxisandmagneticaxisarenotidentical,theradiobeamsaresweptitwoarchesaroundthesky.IfabeampathoccasionallysweepstowardstheEarth,aradiopulscanbedetected,inthiscasewithaperiodbetweenpulsesof0.05903sec.Thus,thestarwhiciscomposedexclusivelyofneutronsiscalledapulsar.ThispulseperiodwouldbeextremelstableexcepttheobservedperiodactuallyvariesbyseveraltensofmicrosecondsasresultofDopplershiftindicatingthattheneutronstarorbitsabinarypartner.TaylorandHulsefound anadditionalvariation:Theorbitperiodisdecliningbyabout75millionthsofasecondper year.Thesetwostarsareorbitingeachotherinagraduallysmaller(thereforefaster)orbit.Thexplanationisthatthesetwomassivestarsarestronglyacceleratedbytheircircularorbitsand thusrequiredtoloseenergyintheformofgravitywavesaspredictedbygeneralrelativity.The NobelPrizerecognizesthisrstindirectvericationofgravitywaves.Itisbelievedthatcurrent technologynowenablesthedirectdetectionofgravitywaves.Gravitationalwavesarerippleinthefabricofspaceandtimeproducedbyviolenteventsinthedistantuniverse,suchasthe

collisionoftwoblackholesorshockwavesfromthecoresofsupernovaexplosions.Suchgravitwavescouldbringwiththeminformationabouttheircataclysmicorigins,aswellasinvaluablcluesastothenatureofgravity. Generalrelativitypredictsthataspinningmassdistortsspace-timeoneofavarietyof'gravitomagnetic'phenomenathatareabsentinNewtoniangravity.Unfortunately,gravitationalforcearesoweakthatitisuselesstotrytodetectthiswarpingofspace-timeunlessthemassisverlargeandspinningrapidlyanastronomicalbody,say,suchastheEarthortheSun,orapulsarTheLense-Thirringprecession(alsoknownasframedragging)duetotheEarthsrotationcan bemeasured.Ingeneralrelativityarotatingmasswilldragspacealongwithit,leadingtoeectwhichwouldbecompletelyabsentinNewtoniangravity.Forexample,agyroscopeinpolarorbiabouttheEarthwillshowanextraprecessionduetotheEarthsone-revolution-per-dayspin. Oneoftheproblemswithgeneralrelativityisthatgravityismuchtooweak.Everytimewcomeupwithsomecooleect(gravitationalwaves,framedragging,timedilation),itturnsout thatitsalmostimpossibletoseetheeect.Framedraggingisnoexception.Ifwewerenearrapidlyrotatingblackhole,framedraggingwouldjumpoutatus:agyroscopewouldwobblealovertheplaceWehaverecentlyestablishedananalogybetweenhydrodynamicsandelectrodynamics.Accordingtothisanalogy,thehydrodynamicsequationsaresimilartoMaxwellequations.One canfollowthesamemethodinsolvingelectrodynamicsproblemsasdoneinthecorresponding electrodynamics.Inthispaperwewouldliketostudythegravitationalwavesradiatedbyan acceleratingobjectinthesamefashionasanacceleratingchargeinelectrodynamics.Thepower radiatedbyanacceleratingchargeisgivenbyLarmorformula.Consequentlyandaccordingtouranalogy,weassumethatsuchaformulashouldexiststhatgivesthepowerradiatedbyan acceleratingmass.WealsoliketostudythegravitomagneticeldoftheseacceleratingobjectsThegravitoelectricandmagneticelds,

2. Gravitomagnetism and Electromagnetism
Whereasinelectrodynamicsanelectricchargegeneratesanelectriceldandacurrentof electricchargeproducesamagneticeld,inNewtoniangravitationaltheorythemassofbodygeneratesagravitationaleldbutacurrentofmass,forexampletherotationofabodydoesnotproduceanyadditionalgravitationaleld.Ontheotherhand,Einsteinsgravitational theorypredictsthatacurrentofmassgeneratesanadditionalgravitomagneticeldthatexertaforceonsurroundingbodiesandchangesthespacetimestructurebygeneratingadditional curvature.Peng(1983)bylinearizingEinsteinequations,hehaswrittenthemintheformof theMaxwellequation.Healso(Peng,1990)hasintroducedgravitomagneticeldequationsint
 
OnTheGravitomagnetismAndItsConsequence
theinvestigationofgravitomagneticeectsonasuperconductor.TheLense-Thirringeectalsoknownasinertialframedragging,isapredictedconsequenceofgeneralrelativityandiexpectedtooccurinthevicinityofarotatingmassivebody.LenseandThirringpredictedthat therotationofamassiveobjectwouldalterthespacetimearoundit,ineectcausingnearby inertialframestorotateslightly. Usingquaternionswehaverecentlyshownthat(Arbab,2009)
