Why Does Society Blame
The gun issue is not my strong point to debate. Personally I don’t see the need to sell military style guns
or why a hunter or gun collector would buy them. But I do know that all guns discharge at high velocityprojectile and all guns carry a capability to store multiple rounds. Also, guns with multiple roundcapabilities have
been around since the 1800’s and anyone could own one.
If guns have existed in publicdomain since the birth of our nation, over 200 years, then what has change? The gun? What is also trueto fact, a gun sitting on a table does nothing, it just sits there. It does not aim, move, or fire. If this is true, then why focus on gun
Controlling what, the accessibility to find a tool to kill? When knives andblunt objects kill more people by almost 4 to 1 to guns? Does isolating one device solve or stop theambition of one to murder? What has changed is the frequency that those who are unstable mentally and capable of violence hasincreased. As the population increases, the percentages of those who suffer from mental illness areincreasing. But at the same time, violent stimulation of our children is also increasing, at epidemic rates. Idare any mainstream network to broadcast on a morning show what a 5 to 12 year old sees everydaywhen he or she plays a violent video game: one that either has them hatchet someone to death or blowthe face off an enemy combat soldier (the content would have to be censored). This is in reality what our children are acting out and viewing right now. This is not the generation of children who played Atariblowing up pixilated asteroids or the 10,000years of human development without theinfluence of virtual butchery as entertainment. The images you see here is what I havepersonally seen many children play (not mychild) and I would question why? Why wouldany adult allow a child to commit acts of brutalphysical violence for fun (to be entertained) in avirtual world? Our society is allowing this cyber violence, movie violence, sitcom violence intothe homes of millions of children at a rapidgrowing rate. America is breading a new violent culture. You
don’t see Hollywood producing movies
like “DickVan Dyke Show”, “Andy Griffith Show”, or “Leave It ToBeaver”. Family oriented non violet
programming that nolonger exists for our children to idealize or commemorate. Weentertain our children to become violent. Grand Theft Auto 5has sold over a billion in sales in weeks, more than anyHollywood movie: example of adults profiting on our children
drug addiction to violence and murder asentertainment.Ok the question again: A gun with multiple rounds have existed for over 100 years in the public domain. What has changed the gun or the trigger finger? Or better said: the parent the child or society allowingacts of violence as entertainment for our children to learn how to kill? Video games that simulate massshootings? And we question why?
