Investigate reportof pain, notingcharacteristics,location, intensity(0-10 scale).
Provide firmmattress andsmall pillows.
Suggest patientassume positionof proper comfortwhile in bed orchair. Promotebed rest asindicated.
Encouragefrequent changesof position.
Apply warm ormoist compresson the affectedarea severaltimes a day.
Provide gentlemassage.
