Description

Walkable cities may be the key to sustainable communities. As such community assets and facilities tend to have a long-term community focused development that is dependent on limited financial resources that must provide outcomes for the community they serve (Gummer, 2007, p. 11). Simulations used by road authorities should model all road users (e.g. drivers, pedestrian and cyclists) as the focus is at least a combination of short–term and long–term community and network benefits? Micro–Simulations should then allow not only the modeller but the end–user practitioners to undertake initial investigations and develop countermeasures and interventions to suite community and network needs? A critical assessment of the outputs has been undertaken to assist micro modelling to meet the needs of end users developed in a PhD at the Australian Maritime College
