has
completedthe
first
year
of
our
Speed
Enforcement
Program.
Attached,you
will
find
the evaluation
of
our
seven
Maryland
State
Roadways
on
which
we
have
deployed cameras.The deployment
periodof
these cameras range
from two
monthsto nine months,ending
September
24,2012
(the
oneyear
anniversary
of
our
program).
The
time
range
of
deployment
for
thesecameras
variesdependingon approval by the
State
Highway Administration,
signage
completion
and camera
installation.
You
will
find
thatthisprogram
has
been
very
successful
by
a
reduction
in
speeding and accidentson
these
roadways.As
an
example,V/oodyard Road
(MD
223)
at
James
Madison
Middle
School,has experienced
over
a72%o
increase
in
compliance
with
theposted
speed
limit
in
the
northbound
direction
and
in the southbound
direction,
a46%o
increase
in compliance.
'We
have also
received
positive
feedback
from
the
school
administrations
involved
at
these
locations.ThePrinceGeorge's County PoliceDepartment is committedto
traffic
safety
on
all of
our
County'sroadways.

works
the bus
duty to
ensure
the
buses
enterand exitthe
parkinglot
safelyand

installation
ofthe
cameras
it
has been
much
easier
for
the
buses
and
cars.
Many
parents
also
commenttothe
ease
of
entering
and
exiting
the
parkinglot
as
well.
She
stated
the
schoolhas
a
large
quantity
of
car riders
and
it
helps
with
gettingthem
in
andout.
