her hands placed flaton either side of her legson the concrete roof and as she spokeabout the dollyou thought about the boyswho said she smeltof yesterday’s dinnersor called her four eyesbut they were dumbshitesyou thoughtthey didn’t seethe beauty of herthe way her eyes sparkledbehind the lensor how being next to herkind of brightened upthe daynot that you’dtell them thatbut you knew itand they didn’tand she saidif you close your eyesyou can imaginewe are on a shipat sea
the grass is the seaand you saidwe could be piratesI have a swordmy old man madefrom steeland painted blueand she looked at youthe sunlight blanking outher eyes and her lipsstill speakingsaying thingsher words shapedlike diamondsand she closed her eyesand so did youand she put her handon yoursand in the darknessit seemed warmand smoothand she said softlyyou can save mefrom the bad piratesthe ones with eye patchesand black scarvesand scary faces
