rganized in October 1996, the Society for theAdvancement of Technology Managementin the Philippines (SATMP) is a tripartitealliance of leaders in the government, industry,academe, who are committed to accelerating thetechnological development of the nation. In pursuit of this goal, SATMP shall:• Act as an information resource center onnew technologies, products and processess;• Advocate policies that give priority to thedevelopment of human resource, scienceand technology;• Support the commercialization of indigenous technologies and localadaptation of imported technologies;• Initiate research cooperative ventures withthe industry, goverment and academe aspartners;• Sponsor national and local forum topromote technology management; and• Link with various local and internationalscience and technology organizations.The present membership of SATMP comprises of more than 100 individuals and 18 institutions,affiliated to industry, academe, and government.
