The unemployment rates are expected to rise into the teens this very month, a record not seen in over a quarter of a century. The jobs that supported the Tampa Bay economy, construction and service, are just not there anymore. The problems of the past 5 years have come to a head in the Tampa Bay area and to the Tampa Bay employment opportunities.
The only Tampa Bay employment opportunity to be had right now is to be your own employer. That means starting your own business. The Tampa Bay economy is in shambles. And forget about creative financing or SBA loans, the whole world is in a credit crunch. What was once the most secure investment a person could make, buying a home, is now an exercise akin to launching a mission to Mars. Getting business loans has always been difficult, but now is nigh on impossible. And if you plan to invest your own money into a business, and avoid the 'Tampa Bay Employment' viper pit, the most important thing you can do is create an online presence.
You can choose to operate an website only 'Internet Business' as well as use a website to enhance a 'brick and mortar' business. Either way, there is a lot to know about an 'online business presence.' Here are some of the things you need to know.

Building a Site.- God is in the details. The details that you don't know about when you build a site can cause your website to become the proverbial 'needle in the haystack' amongst the 8 Billion websites on the Internet. Do you know how to make sure that YOUR SITE is FOUND when someone is searching for your type of business?

Search Engine Optimization- This is how your site gets found when people 'search' for words or phrases about your business or industry. Your site has to be 'optimized' for these words and phrases. Do you know how to make sure that it is?

Loss Leaders- All business have them, your site is a business in and of itself, with common business practices and problems, and with many if not all, of the same components. Do you know what you are supposed to use as a loss leader on your website, to gain the customer?

LIST- ah.... the customer list. Do you know how to make your customer's into your 'circle' of friends? How to build a 'relationship' with your 'list' to keep them coming back to YOUR store instead of your competitions?

Affiliates- in the brick and mortar world, this might be called 'referrals.' When someone refers a friend to you, you give them a discount, a gift, something in return for helping you make another sale. But on the Internet, you get CA$H for these 'referrals'. And you give it as well, in order to bring in more business for yourself. This is one of the cheapest ways to increase profits for your business and/or business website. Plus, once it's set up, it runs on autopilot.

Forget Tampa Bay employment. Not only is it not there, but people starting new businesses is a key factor in moving the economic cycle back to the 'top side.
