Technical & Development Circle, Jabalpur

(ISO 9001:200)

FOREWORD T&D Circle has brought out this compilation entitled Transmission Acceptance Testing Procedures. The main objective of this compilation is to present the users a ready reference to test the transmission systems being inducted into BSNL network. An effort has also been made wherever possible, to enrich them with the experience gained by the Technical & Development Circle in acceptance testing of various transmission projects over a period of time. It is hoped that this compilation which is designed to fulfill the need of the Engineers engaged in installation, testing and maintenance in BSNL will find it informative and will benefit themselves, in accomplishing the objective of quality installation of the network. We are conscious of the fact that in recent years, new developments have revolutionized the Telecom sector. BSNL has adapted to these new technologies and T&D Circle officers have made an untiring effort to accomplish it. The present compilation starts with traditional OFC laying, then moves to OFC Systems upto DWDM, then to GSM (mainly transmission part) systems, then to CDMA systems. It, then covers MLLN in its Chapter 5 and the Microwave System in Chapter 7. I must acknowledge with profound gratitude the excellent work done by T&D Circle Officers, especially Shri V.K. Patne, SDE A/T Pune who have put in their untiring efforts in compiling the actual tests conducted, the test results and have brought out the compilation in the present form.
