MSFC-MAN-010IBM NO. 67-96610005Umbil Assy, Sat. VSection I1In the event the primary laynard does notcause Umbilical Assembly release, the second lay-nard attached to the torque tube
is
actuated whenthe vehicle has risen approximately 18 inches fromthe pad. The action of the second laynard pulls thetorque tube and cam arm down which actuates themechanical 4-ball lock assembly release, and sub-sequent removal of the Umbilical Assembly.2- 5ELECTRICAL EJECT PLATE ASSEMBLYThe Eject Plate (see Figure 1-4) functionsas an interface between the ground support inputelectrical cables and the

Housing Assemblyfor the purpose of disconnecting the electricalcables while performing plugs-out tests upon theInstrument Unit.Pneumatic pressure (GN2) of 750 psig
is
applied through the pneumatic input line into theEject Plate manifold system and actuates the threepneumatic actuators.Umbilical Assembly
are
not required for the TestAssembly, but the quantity and configuration of elec-trical cables are identical with the cables supplied tothe Instrument Unit from the Apollo-Saturn ServiceArm.

INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL PROCEDURES
The following procedures present informationfor the installation ofthe Umbilical Assembly onto theApollo-Saturn Vehicle. The procedures also includeinformation necessary to accomplish the installationof the IU Housing Assembly and the S-IVB CarrierAssembly. All associated items required to com-plete the installation of the major components will bediscussed. It is assumed at this time that
all
com-ponents are in satisfactory condition and no mainten-ance
is
required prior to installation.NOTEInstructions for the maintenance orrepair of items contained on majorcomponents are discussed within Sec-By piston action,
