Hello,I’m Jeannette Koczela, Founder and President of the International Association forProfessional Life Coaches™ (IAPLC). In this publication, you will find information onhow this association can support you in attracting more clients to your life coachingbusiness. When I started my Empowered Spirit Coaching business, I discovered early-on thechallenges that life coaches face when running a life coaching business. I saw thedifficulties in getting new clients on a regular basis, making financial decisions whenyou’re not sure what your income will be (or on no income), acquiring entrepreneurialskills on the fly, and balancing your personal life with a business run from home.
1- More Visibility
As a fellow life coach, I saw the need for us to work together to get more visibility andbetter quality traffic online. Also, we needed a place to gain more skills to run ourbusiness and establish our credibility. As I searched the web for a venue that offered suchthings, I was disappointed in what I found.
One thing that most life coaches need is online visibility. When I started my coachingbusiness, I wanted to find an online directory I could be listed in so I could get moreexposure and attract more clients. What I found was disappointing. The first site I found was too complicated. The coaches had to purchase credits in orderfor their listing to be shown to clients and the clients had to leave all their informationbefore anyone could contact them. I joined the free version but when I got a notice that aclient wanted to contact me, I was told I had to upgrade to a paid version to see themessage! What was the value of the free version? The whole thing was way too complexfor me, and maybe for the average life coach too.On another directory site, you could only find a coach if you knew their name already. Not very helpful. A third one was only for graduates of the directory’s own coachingprogram, and a fourth one was, frankly, just not attractive enough to keep visitors on thesite for very long.I even surveyed the members of my life coaching LinkedIn group and asked them whatdirectories they listed in. They really didn’t have any new suggestions and weren’t veryhappy with the results they were getting from the existing directories. So, being theaction-taker and organizer that I am, I decided to create my own online directory.(Luckily, one of my past careers was web design.)In the directory I created, I made it attractive, simple to use, and easy to find the coaches, who each get a full-page and are listed in several different categories. Because lifecoaching can be approached in so many different ways, this directory lists coaches inover 20 different categories. And the directory is just one way to give life coaches morevisibility. More visibility means more clients. Here’s what one member says…
“The International Association of Professional Life Coaches is a wonderful, supportivegroup. Not only do you get visibility that you wouldn't get otherwise, you get training, support, and brainstorming with your peers. The directory is a great way to let clients find you, get referrals from fellow members, and take your business to the next level. Themembership value far exceeds the investment.”
