Another comesto join him -- this one wearing ALL-WHITE SPECIAL OPS GEAR,but NO FACE-MASK. This is a FOXHOUND SOLDIER.AIR FORCE SOLDIER(yelling over wind)You’re early. Your shift’s not foranother ten minutes.(beat; then louder)You Foxhound guys sure don’t messaround.FOXHOUNDlights a cigarette. His RADIO CRACKLES; he SILENCES IT.AIR FORCE SOLDIERAren’t you cold?SLOW OPERA STARTS ON SOUNDTRACK.Foxhound lowers his cigarette. Eerily, and despite theblizzard, there’s NO STEAM WHEN HE BREATHES.FOXHOUND SOLDIERAlways.Air Force shakes his head and points to his ear; he didn’thear. Foxhound shrugs as his RADIO CRACKLES AGAIN. Heoffers Air Force his cigarette, one soldier to another.Air Force lifts his mask and takes one good drag----before Foxhound EXECUTES HIM with TWO SHOTS TO THE HEAD.IN THE DISTANCE WE HEAR - A dozen similar exchangesTHE SUN COMES UP OVER - a MASSIVE ARCTIC MILITARYINSTALLATION . . . and it’s just changed hands.FADE TO WHITE.END TEASER.

EXT. NORTHERN ALASKA - SNOWY FOREST - DAY
Bright and clear; a line of dogs pulls a man on a sledthrough a powdery pine forest. He’s white. Looks to be inhis mid-30’s. Grizzled facial hair, and a mullet.This is codename "SOLID SNAKE".MUSIC AND OPENING CREDITS ROLL OVERSNAKE RIDING HOME THROUGH THE FOREST.The forest thickens; the snow gets deeper.Snake urges his dogs on. Wild caribou watch them pass.ALTERNATING WITH:
INT/EXT. MILITARY INSTALLATION
An Air Force officer lies dead in her bed, throat cut.An IT guy cowers under his desk, peeing himself.A civilian consultant runs screaming down a hallway, takestwo shots in the back, and falls down.Foxhound soldiers pour through the compound.
EXT. NORTHERN ALASKA - SNOWY FOREST - DAY
Snake rides out of the forest and across the tundra, lashingthe reins. There’s a cabin in the distance.
INT/EXT. MILITARY INSTALLATION
A TRIO OF TROOP TRANSPORT HELICOPTERS sits parked on ahelipad. A squad of Air Force soldiers sprint toward them,through a blizzard. They’re trying to escape the compound.SOLDIERS LOOK UP IN SHOCK AT: the ominous silhouette of anATTACK HELICOPTER hovering over them, BLADES WHIRLING in theblizzard. It
