Te Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) provides its publicationsto contribute toward expanding the body o knowledge about joint specialoperations. JSOU publications advance the insights and recommendationso national security proessionals and the Special Operations Forces (SOF)students and leaders or consideration by the SOF community and deenseleadership.JSOU is the educational component o the United States Special Opera-tions Command (USSOCOM), MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Te JSOUmission is to educate SOF executive, senior, and intermediate leaders andselected other national and international security decision makers, bothmilitary and civilian, through teaching, outreach, and research in thescience and art o joint special operations. JSOU provides education to themen and women o SOF and to those who enable the SOF mission in a jointand interagency environment.JSOU conducts research through its Strategic Studies Department whereeort centers upon the USSOCOM mission and the commander’s priorities.

Te Strategic Studies Department also provides teaching and curricu-lum support to Proessional Military Education institutions—the sta colleges and war colleges.
