About the Author
Statesman, politician and former Governor of Baluchistan, Mir GhausBakhsh Bizenjo was one of the very few leaders of 20
th
century Indiansubcontinent who firmly adhered to the principles of human equality, social justice and peace throughout their political career. While being a firmbeliever in the right of self-determination of all nations subjected by thecolonialist and imperialist forces he never succumbed to negativity of racismand national chauvinism. He was equally critical of all forms of exploitationand discrimination perpetrated upon the working classes and weaker sectionsof the society by the elites of nations struggling for emancipation from thecolonial domination. The autobiography of Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo has been compiledmeticulously from his notes by B.M. Kutty who was fortunate to have spent alot of time with Mir Bizenjo as his close associate. The book reveals manyhidden aspects of Pakistan’s political history and shows how in difficulttimes when the country faced complex crises, Mir Bizenjo tried to findprincipled and pragmatic solutions without succumbing to unrealistic utopianprescriptions or extremist perceptions. The book, it is hoped, wouldcontribute meaningfully to the existing political literature on Pakistan.
