Water Management Services, Inc.
On November 7, 2011, Water Management Services, Inc. (WMSI) filed an application with the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC or Commission) to increase its water rates. WMSI provides water service to 1,808 customers in Franklin County.
Is there an opportunity for publicinput on this rate case?
Yes. As part of the evaluation process forWMSI’s rate request, the Commission willconduct 2 customer service hearings to allowcustomer feedback about WMSI and therate-setting process. Customer comments,written and oral, will be taken into considera-tion when the Commission reaches a deci-sion. Commissioners will attend and partici-pate during the customer service hearings.
Why is WMSI requesting a rateincrease?
WMSI is requesting a rate increase to coverincreasing operating costs and to pay forplant improvements.
When was WMSI’s last approvedrate case?
WMSI’s last approved rate case was in De-cember 2010. Rates took effect in February2011.
Presently, how much is the averagemonthly water bill for a residentialcustomer?
Under currently approved rates, the monthlywater bill for a residential customer using anaverage of 6,140 gallons is $73.07.
