Thinking About Measurement

Sometimes you dont measure things exactly. You have to estimate. Describe a situation where you would estimate a measurement instead of measuring exactly.

If you had a book and you did not know if it would fit you could use your handspan. If you want to know how many cm a poster is and you want to make it fit on your wall, ask somebody.

I found a pencil that I want to buy. It needs to be 15 cm so it will fit in my pencil case. I do not have a ruler. Instead I use my hand span to see if it is too long. When you might want to buy a desk and you want to see if it will fit in your room.

When you dont have a ruler you can guess or measure with your hand. If you were in a store and you did not know how big a book is. You are just going to have to guess how much it is.
