Yoga - Spirituality - Service - Social Consciousness
The world didn't end yet and the new year has dawned, the old has set and already settled back into the past so what choice have we but to go on? This might be a good time to reassess and recommit to those things we have found most important while squeezing out those tendencies that work to our detriment. We know precisely what these two poles are.The Mayan calender coming to an end may mean only that Maya itself, the physical manifestation, has ended leaving only a spiritual essence left to slough off the twin samskaras of desire and regret the way the incorporeal emerges from the corporeal until only peace is left.

Happy New Year 2013!
The firmness of a person’s resolve makes him great. However lowly a person may be, hecan become great by his determination. If you have a firm resolve to realize your goal, you shall become great. Without a firm resolution, you cannot achieve anything.

Exploration of Firm Determination
By Sister Nirainjana A quote by Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji thatresonates deeply within me is the following:"Knowingly or unknowingly, every humanbeing is born with a thirst forlimitlessness." He also said our spiritualpath is the never ending effort to find thelink between the finite and the infinite. Inthis world with so many glitters, glamorand attractions, our primary duty is to makea constant effort to find this link in our daily sadhana and service. Shrii ShriiAnandamurti asks us to continue to find this link even when we are experiencingphysical, mental, emotional and spiritual clash. He asks us to surrender our little "I"feeling to the Great and to offer up the fruits of our sadhana and service to theCosmos, to do our duty as perfectly as possible while surrendering the end results of our work, no matter how much effort, time and resources we have put into ourproject. Everything in the mainstream culture around us sends constant messagingcontrary to this Ananda Marga value, but part and parcel of our firm determination isto maintain our equilibrium in all spheres of life and to continually help build up aspiritual culture with others that is creating a powerful vibration as we enter 2013. November 4th, 1990 was Samkalpa Diivas or Day of Solemn Vow that I rememberclearly. Thousands of Margiis around the world took the following vow: "All my energy, all my mind, all my thoughts, all my deeds, are to be goaded unto thepath of collective elevation of human society, without neglecting other living beingsand inanimate objects right from this moment until the last point of my being on thisEarth."Brothers and Sisters: let us take firmdetermination in 2013 to live up to this vow inall the ways that we are able to, to encourageeach other and lift each other up to be as idealdaughters and sons of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtijias possible, to make Him proud and to makeour Ananda Marga family stronger, healthierand more vibrant as we head to a most beautifulSatya Yuga on this planet that all have beenyearning for. All my good wishes andsalutations. Nirainjana
