Fresh Tilled Soilwww.freshtilledsoil.comBy: Timothy LupoIncreasing Your SEM & SEO Campaigns Effectiveness through Social Media Marketing
My friends, the internet is changing and this means that we have to tweak our SEM (searchengine marketing) and SEO (search engine optimization) strategies to accommodate thesechanging times. Of course it’s key to continue to follow the standard “tricks of the trade” if youwill, but you need to continue to look for new and effective tools to add to your arsenal. It’s reallynot that hard and you don’t need to re-invent the wheel to do it.There are a lot of social websites popping up left and right and these sites are gaining someserious momentum, so you know what that means?...time to jump on the social soul train andride it. Why?...because if you don’t you are not going to be able to distinguish yourself from therest of your competition…and who wants to be just like everyone else? (Caution: That was arhetorical question and answering out loud may expose the truth). It’s time for us to use thesesocial platforms to help optimize and drive more organic traffic to our client’s websites.Of course, some SEO strategies may be more effective than others, but mixing old strategieswith the new can only increase your chances for success. It’s time to take a chance and see justhow effective some of these new strategies can be. I’ve outlined one of the new strategies that Iparticularly like below in comparison to an older strategy.Old Way #1:Social Bookmarking:Now don’t get me wrong, just because this is an older strategy doesn’t mean it’s any lesseffective. Social bookmarking is a great way to build some significant links back to a particular website. Many of the social bookmarking websites allow us to upload title, URL, description andkeyword tags that link back to whatever website we are trying to promote. The key it to getusers to find you bookmark, click on the link and move traffic to your website. Again it’s a greatstrategy (and one I use a lot), but everyone’s doing it.New Way #1:Public Photo Sharing:In addition to creating a social bookmark (as mentioned above), why not upload some relevantphotos to your favorite public photo sharing website and link those back (using a URL) towhatever site you are trying to promote. People are really starting to gain interest in these typesof sites. I was just on Flickr the other day and what I thought was going to be a quick stop tolook at a couple of pictures turned to in an hour and a half charade. ..It’s really addicting! Peopleare constantly searching for images on Flickr and what better way for them to happen upon your picture, click on your link and are directed to your website…BADA BOOM BADA BING…youmight just have gained yourself a new lead or client!Step out of your comfort zone and give the new strategy a try. I’m sure you will be pleasantlysurprised. The information above was provided to you by Fresh Tilled Soil (FTS), aBoston web designanddevelopment and web marketing firm.
