OneofthecontributingfactorsfortheextremeunemploymentintheareaistheeducationattainmentoftheNorthSidepopulation.Table2comparestheunemploymentratesforthoseages25-64withlessthanahighschooleducationoftheNorthSidearea,St.LouisCity,theSt.Louismetropolitanarea,andMissouri.Ofthenearly2000residentsintheNorthSidewhoarebetweentheagesof25and64andwhohavealessthanahighschooleducation,morethanhalf(52%)arenotinthelaborforce;ofthosewhoareinthelaborforce,nearlyone-third(31%)areunemployed.Theunemploymentrateismuchhigherforthosethathavelessthanahighschooleducationinthethreeareasofcomparisonaswell.ThisinformationindicatesthattheoveralleducationattainmentoftheNorthSideresidentsislikelyin`luencingtheunemploymentrateinthearea.
