Job Description:
The Bilingual Services Intern will perform an assessmentof the number of Hispanic families in the neighborhoodand determine their needs. Intern will work with CaseManagers to locate local services for referrals. He or shewill also focus on translating forms and makerecommendations for interacting with residents in thefuture.
Overview of Responsibility:
-Enhance communication with residents throughtranslation of forms and education.-Determine needs of Hispanic residents.-Create a best-practice guide for bilingual services.-Work with bilingual residents to create sustainableprograms.
Position Requirements:
-Proficient in Spanish.-Intern must have excellent communication skills, bothwritten and verbal.-Highly motivated, self-directed, responsible personwith a track record of successful achievements.-Intern must be able to work alone and with teammembers.-Intern must be able to think, work, and functionindependently.-Must be entering junior or senior year in college.-Access to a car or bike for transportation.-A laptop or computer.-Full time availability (40 hours/week).
